Best A Frame Cabin to Rent in Quebec

When we planned one of our first trips out of the province during the pandemic, we knew we wanted to rent a cabin in Quebec. We'd seen lots of epic cabins in the Quebec mountains online, but there was one particular cabin that my girlfriend and I knew we had stay at as soon as we saw it. It's called La cAbin ride&sleep (notice the capitalized A in the title), and it may well be the best A Frame cabin to rent in Quebec City.

It is, as you may have already guessed, an A frame cabin, however what makes this place so special is that it's located on top of a mountain (yes, you read that correctly), and it's completely off grid.

The cabin is only 30 minutes north of Quebec City, making it easily accessible if you're visiting the area, however, once you're within 15 minutes of the cabin, you feel like you've been transported to a Swiss ski town. The drive up to the cabin is an adventure all in itself. Once you get onto the owner's property, you drive a windy, scenic mountain road up through the trees until you reach the very end of the road. Once you get there, you not only see an epic view of the trees and mountain valley below, but also the brown A frame cabin rising above the trees.

Inside, the cabin boasts beautiful wood floors and walls, a modern stove fireplace, and panoramic windows that shows off the epic view and the ski hill across the valley, which is a really nice sight at night when the ski lights are lit up! The cabin also comes supplied with some firewood, snowshoes and blankets, and even a book on cool cabins to inspire you further to build your own.

The off-grid components of this A frame cabin in Quebec are what really stood out to us, though. The cabin is of course heated by the fireplace, but it also has propane heat to keep that place cozy when the fire isn't roaring. Additionally, there are large solar panels on the side of the cabin to produce electricity, fans that pull in fresh air from the outdoors so that you don't have to open the windows and let hot air out, and a propane stove in the kitchen. Honestly, it didn't feel like an off-grid cabin, which again makes it one of the best A frame cabins to rent in Quebec.

In the summer, the cabin is used as a ride & sleep for mountain bikers, as the property is filled with mountain bike trails. We were there in the winter, so the owner told us we could utilize their snowshoes to trek around their trails, and they were incredible. The trees were covered in snow, transporting us instantly into a winter wonderland.

So, if you ever find yourself looking to rent a cabin in Quebec, look no further than la cAbin ride&sleep. It's truly one of the best A frame cabins in Quebec, and the off-grid, mountaintop experience will stay with you for a long time.
